A New Marriage Devotional

I’ve been a little quieter on the blog this spring, not because I haven’t had words to share, but because I’ve been pouring them into one place: a new marriage devotional.

Those who follow me on social media or receive my newsletters will have heard about this (and all my squeals of excitement about it), but next month, June 16th, I’ll be launching a new gift for newsletter subscribers. This will replace my novella, The Letter (if you’d like to read it, this is your last chance!), which will be retired when the devotional comes out.

This free book weaves together personal experience, threads from my historical fiction married stories (which I’m still querying and hoping to get into your hands one day soon), and Scripture. As I’ve said many times, I’m passionate about marriage, and especially about seeing marriages strengthened and reflecting the love they’re meant to echo: God’s love for us.

That’s exactly what this devotional explores, the connection between our marriages and God’s desire for intimate, loving relationships with each of us. I believe God is for us in our marriages (the inspiration for the title, For Us) and that He wants to see us build strong, lasting, joy-filled marriages, not only for our own good, but to reflect Him to the world.

In our house we’ve always said that no topic is off-limits, and I took the same approach in writing this devotional. In the back of the book, I’ve created a topical index that links directly to devotionals that address that issue. Some of the topics you’ll find include parenting, managing conflict, physical intimacy, infidelity, navigating loss, financial strain, unemployment, and healing from past wounds. From the ground-up, this devotional has been saturated in prayer, and I know God will use the words to bring healing, hope, and joy to marriages. I am so, so excited to see what He does next.

If this sounds like something you could use, I invite you to join me in these words! Just sign up for my newsletter. You’ll receive an email with the link to download the free e-book version. If you’re a paperback kind of person, there will also be a link to purchase a physical copy (only available for newsletter subscribers). I hope these devotionals bless your heart, your marriage, and your relationship with your spouse. And I hope you’ll join me on this writing journey as we walk it out together!
