“The Letter” Novella

I am so very excited to share the latest in my writing journey!

If you follow me on social media or have been poking around my website recently, you may have noticed that I’ve been talking about a new novella, “The Letter.” I am thrilled to say that, as of yesterday, it is officially published!

This story is a little different than some of the other writing I’ve been doing. For one, it’s a novella. So it’s longer than the short stories I’ve posted here and published elsewhere; and shorter than my debut novel and the second novel I’m working on writing. For another, I am offering this one for free to anyone who subscribes to my newsletter. It’s a fun little way to say “thank you” to the amazing friends who are on this writing journey with me!

Set in Holland during World War II, “The Letter” tells the story of an unlikely friendship between two strangers, about love across enemy lines, and about finding the courage to shine brightly when the darkness closes in.

I’m especially thrilled to bring you this particular story. As you will read, it is layered with meaning for me, both personally and historically. My grandparents lived in Holland during the Occupation and I grew up hearing stories of their experiences with the war. The result is that the book is full of real stories, family history, and–as my kids call them– “Easter eggs.”

I hope you will enjoy reading this novella as much as I enjoyed writing it. And please feel free to share the news with your friends and family so that they can get the e-book for free as well. The more, the merrier!
